My name is Brenda Lowry. I was born in Washington, D.C. and lived in the Maryland suburbs for most of my life. I moved to South Florida ten years ago. I worked in the jewelry industry for most of my professional life. Then I met Walter, the love of my life. Before meeting him I had never considered tapping into my creative talents. His voice of encouragement was joined by Carole Watson, my dear friend, and the owner of Always In Stitches in Palm Beach Gardens.

A Whimsical Element's first designs were published in 2004. I designed Bonnie's Heart when my youngest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was the first in the Inspirational Heart series. The flip flop designs quickly followed, and things were on their way.

My love of color and texture is evident in my designs. The possibilities available today for cross stitchers is so vast that it amazes me. I hope that my designs encourage all stitchers to experiment with new elements to enhance their work.
